Can my puppy fly with me on an airplane?

Is it possible for my puppy to travel with me in the cabin of an aircraft?
I'm flying out of Las Vegas going to Anchorage, AK on alaska airlines. He is less than 12 weeks old right now and weighs about 3 lbs. He will be 15 weeks when I plan to travel. I just don't want him to be flying in the cargo area. Also, would it be a problem if I were flying standby?! Here is a picture of him...

Most airlines allow dogs under fifteen pounds to travel in the cabin of the aircraft. Any dog over fifteen pounds must be transported in the cargo area. For any dog under fifteen pounds the airlines require the following:
(1) Your carrier may be a hard plastic carrier, metal, or a carry on soft sided one.
(2) The carrier must have adequate ventilation on three sides.
(3) The carrier must be leakproof.
(4) The carrier must be able to fit under the airline seat and be no larger than seventeen inches in length, sixteen inches in width, and ten and one half inches high.

Airlines will charge between fifty dollars and one hundred and fifty dollars for your pet to travel with you. Also, do not feed your dog for six hours prior to your flight. Your dog may have water until flight time. Be sure your dog is given plenty of fresh water once you have arrived at your destination. However, to be sure, I would call Alaskan Airlines about your quiery. Hope this helped. Very cute dog by the way.

Cost and flight hours breakdown of being an airline pilot?

Can someone give me the types of licenses, the flight hours required for each of them, license fees, and the typical amount of money I should expect to pay (with aircraft rent, instructor fees etc.) on the way to being an airline pilot, beginning from being a non-flyer, in the US? After which license can I start flying for money? (more for experience/hours building than money) Which part time flying jobs can I get, flying someone else's airplane, before getting an airline job (skydiver pilot? instructor? mail?)?

I'm in college, hoping to get a decently paid job at the end of it, so I can fly only part time. I know it's a long, hard process, but I'm not in a hurry. I want to know what I'm up against so I can put together a long term plan.

Multiengine - No FAA mins, but average 10 - 15
Flight Instructor - No FAA mins, but figure 20 hours - allows you to instruct to build time and make a few bucks

Total cost - $60,000 - $100,000

In "normal times", regional airlines would hire with about 500-1000 hours with 100-200 multiengine hours.

In today's environment, it's more like 3000 hours and 500 minimum M/E
