Aircraft DehAVilland Dash
Tendency to come in well above the glideslope?
I'm not talking about a topwinger such as a slow Cessna anyway, unless it's a DeHavilland Dash. I'm mainly talking about 747-200 simulator. I mainly do that, not just to see the centerline easier, but it gives me more elbow room to make corrections, coming in steep like that. To compensate for the increase in airspeed I just put on spoilers or touch the spoilers briefly. The pitch is pretty dramatic sometimes but I level off with pretty good flair once over the runway. Pulling back on the yoke bleeds off the rest of that built up airspeed, then touchdown. I'd rather do that than throttle up to keep from sinking. Perhaps people don't like coming in that steep. Do actual heavy aircraft pilots do that in real life?

I'm getting better at not eating up too much runway by doing that.
If you are on a normal three degree glide path, you should have plenty of visibility to see the runway in a normal approach attitude. If the nose is too high, you may be on the verge of a stall during your approach, which isn't good. The spoilers should NEVER be used while on final approach.
Are you referring to flying an aircraft in FS9 or FSX? If so, try raising your viewpoint in the cockpit (I think it is Ctrl-Enter).
