what is the purpose of Material Review Bord in aviation industries?

I whant to know what is the porpose of the MRB in manufacturing aviation parts? Are they permited to change the design factors and how?

The MRB is an internal function of your quality manufacturing system. This generally is in a larger company, but a smaller company can utilize one also. The board consists of representatives from engineering, quality, manufacturing, and purchasing. Their task is to evaluate raw materials available from various vendors that meet or exceed the specification for the part as noted in material specifications. The idea is to make sure that there is control maintained over purchased products to ensure the integrity of the final product. Material certifications should always be provided and maintained on file. Sometimes new materials or process materials such as chemicals become available that may be of benefit to your product and or processes in which case you may need to inform the FAA engineering entity of an "engineering change" you would need to outline the change and benefits with the reason for change. Perhaps something once used is no longer available so you are now replacing what was formerly specified. There are minor changes and major changes, a minor change can be reported on an annual basis but a major change must be approved before continued manufacturing.

Rafael.....you are being to narrow in your interpretation as the manufacturer that produced the part also has an MRB as do you from a receiving and usage sense. It is generaly part of the operations quality manual and outlined therein. The askers question related to the manufacture of these parts.
