AViation Pilot Headphones

I'd like some advice on aviation headsets?

I'm close to getting my pilots lic, and would like to celebrate with a new headset. I don't understand the difference between the $150 sets and the $1100 sets (except the Bose one has Bluetooth). Don't really have a budget in mind, and I'm not sure if ANR reduces noise through the mic or through the speakers (like noise cancelling personal headphones).

Any education or advice is appreciated

How much to spend on an Aviation headset all depends on how often and how much you are flying...

If you are going to be flying for a living then a good ANR headset with money well spent will be the one for you..
I currently own a David Clark X11 and am Pretty happy with it.. Flying up to 6 hours a day, your going to need a comfortable headset...

Standard Noise reduction headsets, get the noise reduction qualities from an effective seal around the ears and a clamping force on your head.. And wear one for up to 6 hours a day eventually feels you have a vice clamped to your head...

ANR headsets use opposite sound waves to 'equal out' the noise that comes from an aircraft....

Ive found the noise reduction to be about the same but ANR headsets are by far way for Comfortable...

Main things you need to consider when buying a headset..
- Comfort
- How well it cancells the noise..

A cheap headset is just something you put on your head so you can use the radio in the aicraft, Noise reduction quality not that great..

spend a bit of money and you will feel like your on a nice comfortable jet (Quiet) and will even forget your wearing a headset because their so comfortable..

You sound like a Private pilot... A David clark 10-13.4 or there about will do you just fine..

You can spend more if you want if you want comfort
