Octane Rating for 2000 Ford Mustang v6?

What's the octane rating for a 2000 Ford Mustang v6. I can't find the owner's manual. It "pinged" when I used regular (87), so now I'm using super (93), but with the high price of gas, I'd hate to be wasting my money.

Also, what is the size of the gas tank in this car?

That car is designed to run on 87, the pinging is a characteristic of that motor (Ihave a 1008 F150 that does the same thing) 88 or 89 will be a little better. Stay away from 93, it can actually help burn out a valve in that motor, certain cars use 93 and yours is not one of them. Been down that road with Ford Corporate.
