Does anyone know how to test the coil or stator on the Aprilia RX125 (rotax 123 engine?).?
I have an RX125 with no spark. I suspect the coil at fault (open cct between HV and ground). Have tried another coil which I had in the shed but still not working. My suspicion is this coil is also faulty, but dont know how to check. Have measured HV/Gnd res and getting about 3000 OHM which sounds reasonable to me.

To test the coil, take a spark plug and stick it into the plug cap and lay the plug on top of the engine. Hook up a jumper wire to the positive battery terminal and with the other end, momentarily touch the positive terminal of the ignition coil (less than one second). When you quickly remove the jumper, the plug should spark if the coil is good.
As long as you have juice in the battery, it doesn't make any difference whether the alternator stator is good or bad.

Where do I get a piston installed in a 587 rotax engine for a seadoo bombadier 1990, preferably around Saginaw?
Here's a listing of 11 engine rebuild sites in Michigan. At least one of them is in Saginaw. Hope the link helps.
I do have to admit though, you've peaked my curiosity. Normally when a piston fails it takes out a lot more than just the piston. As a matter of fact it normally either plows a hole in the head or the side of the engine, or else it just jams in the cylinder and destroys the valves and cam as they try to keep moving it. The only time I've changed pistons is during a rebuild, and if you were doing that you wouldn't be looking for someone to do it for you.
Do you mind sharing what happened that you need a piston replaced?
