Critical Thinking math question?

Suppose you are the Director of Purchasing for a large commercial airline company. Several years ago, anticipating significant growth in the air travel industry, you placed orders totaling $2100 million to purchase new aircraft that would seat a total of 4500 passengers. Some of the aircrafts were Boeing 747's that cost $200 million each & seat 400 and Boeing 777's that cost $160 million each and seat 300 passengers. Others were European airbus A321's that cost $60million and seat 200 passengers. At the time you were instructed to buy twice as many US manufacture aircrafts as foriegn aircraft.

(a) given the selection of three aircrafts, how many of each type of aircraft did you order??

---> I need help setting up the equations!!! I can do the work from there Its supposed to be a Three Linear Equations in Three Variables.

Let x be the number of Boeing 747's, y be the number of Boeing 777's and z be the number of Airbus A321's:

200x+160y+60z=2100
400x+300y+200z=4500
x+y=2z

The first equation is the price of the air crafts: the total is 2100 million, which equals the price of the Boeing 747's times the number bought plus the price of the Boeing 777's times the number bought plus the number of A321's plus the numbers bought. The second equation was found the same way, just with the total number of passengers equaling the sum of the number of passengers per plane. The third equation is from the last sentence, where the total number of US aircrafts is x+y, and that is twice as big as the number of foreign aircrafts, or z.

The Crystal Maze should be brought back - Whip round anyone?

Ok, so the set for the Crystal Maze cost £250,000 to build. If we want to bring it back, we need to raise £250,000, and find an abandoned aircraft hangar large enough....

Possible? hehe... Channel four just BRING IT BACK !!!

Sounds like a great idea! Set up a website and take donations and write plenty of letters to the station!
