Trim Tab Adjustment

Boat lists to starboard when on plane and pulls to port on deceleration.?

I am a very new boat owner. The boat is a 1987 Intruder. It is 20' with a 260HP 5.7 V8 Merc with a alpha one out drive. The prop is in good condition with a few small nicks but nothing major. I have gotten advice to replace the prop and/or get power trim tabs. I was hoping for something a little more concrete on what to do. Even hoping it may be a adjustment that can be made. Thanks!

You may have a small adjustment fin on the drive to adjust for the prop torque. Have a mechanic check it if you do not feel comfortable. Move it a notch at a time until you have the ride you want.

Make sure you have the load balanced before you change anything.

Trim Tab For 1985 Mercury 150 Black Max?

I was helping my friend change his water pump on this engine and while putting it back together I noticed his trim tab had no adjustment to it and I asked him about it and he said that while out on the lake one day he lost his trim tab and this is what they said fit his boat motor and since he replaced it he noticed that the boat motor pulls to the right , I have never seen a trim tab that couldn't be adjusted did they give him the wrong one.?

Sure sounds that way Denis, it might be a cheap after-
-market one. Take it back and get the original manufactures part for it, just might fix that pulling problem.
Maybe ask him if the boat pulled before the lost trim tab.
