What's happening with Political correctness?
My daughter was singing the old bangles song
"Walk Like an Egyptian" the other day and my son 12yrs was heard to say to her "You can't sing that, it's racist"!
So to gauge how mad the world is going.
Please comment as whether you disagree or agree that the song is racist (purely on that line of the song, as I don't know all the other lyrics to it).
It would also help if you put your country of origin as well, so I can make reference to each countries attitude?

Yes political correctness has gone up the wall but unfortunately until recently it was only the complainers who were mad. Now we are seeing 12 year old boys worrying unhealthily about things that they think or say.
I do not agree that the Bangles song is racist and I doubt that any Egyptian would particularly as it has reference to history and not to modern Egypt. However a poll of local government authorities on this issue would almost certainly come back with the following recommendations:
1. The Bangles should be banned from music for racial intolerance
2. People should now stop wearing bangles as a protest to their blatant racial prejudice.
