How do I wire a runway light to a toggle switch?
I am trying to hook up an aircraft toggle switch to a runway light for in my apartment. I have zero experience in wiring anything and I don't know where to start other than purchasing the runway light and the toggle switch. I need to know what type of wires are needed and how to hook it up so that if I flip the toggle, the light will turn on.

If this light runs on house hold current, please put a cord and plug on it. That way, when it starts smoking, you can jerk the plug out before your apartment goes up in flames. With zero experience in wiring, you may want to rethink doing this yourself.

What is that thing on aircraft carriers that stops jets made out of?
You know how the jets hook onto that rope when they land ... what is that rope made out of and how to they anchor it to the ship so that it does not snap or break off when the jet hooks onto it?
It is really a bunch of used elastic underwear bands braided together and anchored to the deck.
