On the Boeing 777s how does the flight attendant switch on the boarding music?

On airplanes with Inflight Entertainment how does the flight attendant select the boarding music? How is it that you can select a channel from the IFE to play over the PA system? Is there a button that says "Boarding Music". On the old aircrafts was there a button that said" Boarding Music" thanks

There are wall-mounted touchscreens located by the galleys that control most of the functions in the cabin, everything from IFE to lights to the call button.

can thermocouple-type instruments indicate correct temperatures even when the master switch is off?
so you're saying that they'll probably indicate a false reading when the switch is off?

A "thermocouple" can be either an electric or a mechanical (non-electric) device. For example, most oil temperature instruments just use a little mechanical probe with a tube filled with heat-transfer gunk. these will read correctly without electric power.

On the other hand, electronic cylinder analyzers and many other instruments use electric thermal probes. These will not read or will give an indeterminate reading if the master switch is off. So the answer is "sometimes." You have to know how the particular instrument works.
