When you roll your airplane, does all the stuff in your pockets fall all over the place?

Depends what type of roll you're thinking about Terry....just a normal (non-inverted) turn is technically considered a "roll" There should be no "negative g" forces on a normal turning maneuver, so, no...no stuff will fall out of your pockets. However, if you are thinking about aerobatic, inverted rolling maneuvers, where the airplane is rolled through 360 degrees of rotation here again it would depend on exactly what type of aerobatic roll. Some rolling maneuvers require that the nose is held "fixed" to a reference point while the roll is being completed, and this normally results in "negative g" forces as the airplane goes through the inverted position (the "slow roll" that Grumpy Geezer is refering to)...and, yes, if something is not secured in a pocket or compartment, it will tend to float around the cockpit and fall out of your pocket....other different type of rolling maneuvers (aileron or barrel roll) can be performed without "negative g" forces, so things would tend to stay in place. (Grumpy Geezer had it right...we're just explaining it a little differently...he should get the 10 points)
