How do I hook up a HDTV antenna and the cable from TVMAX at the same time?
I have TVMAX as my cable service provider. I get all channels in my HDTV TV but i cannot get the local HD channels. I bought a HDTV antenna and when I hooked it up I was able to get the local HDTV channels over the air but I wanna a way to hook both the antenna and the cable into my tv. (my TV has only one cable outlet)
If you only have 1 "antenna in" port on your TV, you can get an A-B switch to split the signal to the 1 TV input. From your question, I assume you don't have a cable box. This would be easier with more info.

How to Connect an Antenna or Cable to Your HDTV For Dummies
For my TV, I use a TV antenna with coaxial cable. What is the best DVD VCR combo with recorder for this setup?
My concern is finding a DVD VCR combo with recorder that will work with my antenna/coaxial setup. It appears that those with DVD recorders only work with cable/satelite systems. As long as I can record, I don't care if it is via DVD or VCR. I just want a good system. Thanks for your help.
They will work with antenna with a converter box. The claim only satellite/cable compatibility because they don't have tuners built in at all, and expect you to have a cable or satellite box.
You can get DVD only recorders with digital tuners I am sure.
