Float level switch for in home a/c unit?

my a/c unit is in my attic. i am told i need a float level switch installed in the drain pa. it supposedly is a switch that shuts the unit off when it detects some or too much water in the drian pain. can anyone send me a link to one or explain exaclty i suppse to hard wire it in. thanks

Too much water is the problem. Forget the switch, just check the drain hose once a month (if you are the anal type) or 2 times a season. As long as the drain is clear, there won't be too much water. If there is too much water, then clear the drain, ( that is what you will have to do if the installed switch shuts down the unit).

What is Fuse Switch Unit? For what range of current it is used?

Its a unit that contains both a switch and fuse or fuses (3 phase).

They come in almost any size.

You will also see the term fuse switch which is basically the same but the fuse links are mounted on the moving contacts of the switch.
