How to install a tachometer on a motorcycle (Virago XV535S)?

I know its a smaller bike but i found a baron LED tachometer that i think would look pretty sweet on it. I changed another tachomoter on our 81 xs 650 but i didn't do any of the wiring so i'm wondering if its a very hard job to do. Please don't tell me to follow the directions included, i want to know first hand experience..problems?..anything helpful
