What is this movie called where this elf guy rides this camel/horse in the beginning and its all drawn?

there is this one movie and it's drawn in the time of when the hobbit was made and in the beginning it takes place as this elf dude wearing a red outfit and he's riding this weird camel horse thing, and there is there war taking place and it's really vulgar, bloody and violent. Again, it's pretty old maybe came out in 1996-1998 looks like the drawings of The Hobbit, please if anyone knows what this movie is called, me and my sister really want to know. Thanks : )
No, the movie's called Wizards by Ralph Bakshi, (my dad told me) but thanks for the help. lol And by the way.. Dark Crystal is not drawn.. it's puppets ha ha and it's not very vulgar (of course) because it's a children's movie.
