Car has very bad acceleration Celica gts (2zz ge engine)?
My car has been giving me a real hard time getting up to speed these past few months. A while back I changed my spark plugs and replaced them with bosch platinum+2 plugs. Should I try going back to the regular plugs that have to be gaped. Also I didn't know this untill here not too long ago but I have been told that I should be using 93 or 94 octane in my car because of the engine type. I have been using 87 octane for a while now. Could the combination of the to be holding my engine back. I used to be able to get my rpms up to 7 grand no problem but no the most I can make it is 5.(If I accelerate at a nice even speed the car does alright but if I smash the pedal to the floor the car starts shaking really bad and the engine nearly cuts out.) Please help and give me any ideas that you can.
What happening is your using cheap gas thats combusting early. Your car is "knocking" because the fuels burning before it was ment to. Keep it up and your engines gonna blow. The only way you can burn cheap gas on the car is if you either get a new ecu/programer or buy mid grade gas fill up completely then buy a bottle of octane boster and pour it in there. Theres nothing wrong with your car(yet) just follow the recomended fuel and maintenance. Also every now and then pour some fuel injector cleaner in there.

What does it mean to have a clean engine compartment?
Does it mean to not have any car fluids anywhere or does it mean not even having spider webs and dust/dirt inside? Sometimes I wish the engine compartment was nearly as clean as on a new car. But how do you achieve that? I'm afraid that spraying water inside will cause an electrical problem or rust! It would certainly be way too time consuming to clean it by hand. Cleaning a motorcycle is bad enough!
