Flange Mount
plastic flange at shower arm/ price pfister?
I needed to replace the shower head, arm, and trim flange of my price pfister shower controls. When I removed the arm, it did not unscrew out of the usual brass elbow in the wall. Rather, it unscrewed out of a plastic flange mounted to the face of the tile. Also, there is about 3 inches of copper pipe stubbed out of the wall, thru the middle of this flange. The chrome finish flange is deep enough to cover this plastic flange. How is the plastic flange removed? It seems to just turn on the copper pipe without coming off.
most have a flat spot on it put a wrench on it and turn out...if not use a pipe wrench .make sure you use teflon tape on the threads when replacing to the elbow or it will leak in the wall and you won't know it till the wall comes down

Where do exhaust gaskets go?
Do they go between the pipe and the head, or around the pipe and under the mounting flange?

its a crush washer and it goes between the pipe and the head. Thats why the pipe fits in the washer.
