Great Jeeps

Here is a great question for Jeep people...?
I have a 1993 Jeep that I am in love with. I want to start building up my Jeep some more (33' tires, lift, some other stuff) but it has 140k miles and is starting to show some serious wear.
Question: IF i put in a brand new engine, would it be the same as "resetting the clock" and having a new Jeep (as far is it running strong for another 10 years)?
I own a shop, and I can tell you this; No it won't because the only thing that you are adding new is the engine. If you go through the rest of the drive-train components, the cooling system, the brake system, the steering system, and the charging system, you should be there. If you can classify the vehicle as mechanically sound after the restoration work is done, then you can get many miles of service. Gears, bearings, and seals will all need to be replaced to be able to say the drive-train is done. If your drive-train is in good condition and not in need of a lot to get it back to new condition, then you can look forward to many years of fun with it. Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

Jeeps 1941{45 $45.97 The jeep was the most famous military vehicle of World War II, and its name has become synonymous with a whole class of military and civilian all-terrain vehicles. The jeep originated in a prewar US Army requirement for a simple, inexpensive, and robust vehicle for basic utility chores. Its simple design proved to be adaptable to a host of military tasks including use as a scout vehicle, battlefield ambulance, communications vehicle, and staff car. This book, covering “the savior of World War II”, focuses on the design and development of this versatile vehicle used on nearly every front of World War II. |

Bad Ass Jeep 1
has anybody any great jeep (wrangler) stories to share?
I'd love to hear any stories about your wrangler, either old or new, or personal or whatever that mean something to you. For instance, I remember one time I was penniless but still gave my last money for gas and another time when i was really low and I drove it off road and when I did it, all my problems were blown away and I was refreshed.
In 1961 my dad and a few friends, all living in Ohio, took a vacation to Colorado and rented a Jeep. They spent a week driving 4-wheel-drive mining roads and wagon trails from Buena Vista to Silverton. They had never seen the mountains before, nor driven a Jeep. Eventually, he moved to Colorado to raise a family here, and I grew up bouncing around in the back of his CJ-5 every summer.
Last summer, in celebration of the 45th anniversary of my Dad's first trip to Colorado, my two brothers and I took him for a 3-day Jeeping weekend. We drove a majority of the trails and passes he drove back in '61. We joked: he'd explain to me why all this new fancy plastic and cushy ride is inferior to his trusty old CJ, then ask me to change from CD to Sirius. He told great stories of certain obstacles that are still there, and he'd remember details like, "around the next bend is a beautiful lake", and lo and behold... We stayed in camping cabins in Buena Vista, ate PB&J sandwiches on the trail, had the top down (and scrambled to put it up when afternoon thunderstorms rolled through), and he was like a giddy little boy for every bit of it!
I've been driving a Wrangler for 10 years myself now. I go offroad driving most weekends and a few week-long vacations each summer. Taking my dad out last summer was probably the most memorable outing of them all!
Great question! Thanks for asking!

The problem is they’re not marketting the late-great Jeeps, they’re marketing the far less reliable V6 piles of consumer junk. I have a ’98 XJ Classic 4×4 I6 with over 120K miles, and it still hasn’t had any problems. My college buddy got a 2008 wrangler and he’s already having problems with it. They broke a good thing trying to make it appeal to more people.

"might just be life saving ???.. ("my family, and my neighbors")"
Why would you mess around with stupid 'natural' mosquito repellant when it's a matter of life or death??
This is as ridiculous as saying "I'm not going to take that ambulance to hospital even though I've only got 10 minutes to live, it uses an unnatural internal combustion engine. Fetch me a horse and cart!"
Crack open a bottle of DEET that has been proven to work. If you're worried about a possible death risk situation then you haven't got time for silly, herbal-hippy trash that doesn't work.
