Heater Preheater
Traffic,1.9,diesel,2003,dci.Poor running no power.?
Hey guys have the above and havent done too much on them so any help would be good.Have scanned it with tha launch and got codes.
DF094 Thermoplunger memory relay N,open circuit or short circuit to earth.
DF061 Preheater plugs active circuit ,heater plugs faulty or in open circuit.
Its hard to start in the morning and lacks alot or power when driving.It feels like the turbo is cutting in and out when driving.Could the glow plugs cause this when driving aswell as hard starting
Glow plugs are just for starting...maybe they are on the whole time due to something wrong with electrical? It could be the fuel pump,diesel typicaly needs alot of pressure to run..If it idles fine it could be the fuel pump.

Fuel Pre Heater Project for 89 Ford Mustang
What exactly is a pre-heater?
I have an 05 Nissan Altima and live in Minnesota, so the temps get pretty low.
I went to get a block heater (the plug-in) put in for my car. They had some troubles so they had to call the Nissan dealer, who told them they really shouldn't be putting one in because it makes everything worse for a Nissan.
So the mechanic told me that what I should do is just turn it on (but not running) for 6 seconds, shut it off, and then turn it on so it is running. He said that that first 6 seconds gets everything heating up, even though my car isn't running. My dad says that means I have a preheater, what exactly does that mean?
Your father is correct. I've never heard of an intake manifold pre-heater in a gasoline engine as I'm only familiar with pre-heaters in diesel intake manifolds.
Essentially a pre-heater is a car battery powered electrode directly inside the intake manifold that pre-heats the air (inside the manifold) before you actually start the car. What happens is this: After the air is heated inside the intake manifold the engine swallows warm air into the combustion chambers during the very first revolutions of the car starter.
Hope this is somewhat easier to understand.
