why does the map sensor stop the engine when the pressure in the manifold is low?

why does black smoke observed during the time the map sensor's tube is removed from the manifold even when the vehicle has got new rings.

map sensor does not stop engine it only send a signal to ECM along with other inputs to control engine operation. Smoke can be caused for many reasons other than rings. could be excessive fuel or bad valve guides etc. need a mechanic to diagnose

Manifold Pressures for LG Aircon.?

I have an LG LS-T266CEL split unit air con. Its running on R22 gas. I have tried almost everywhere to get the correct manifold pressures for this machine. It is currently cooling and heating, but not getting very cold, and, it cycles very often, almost every 10 minutes. Both high and low pressure ports as they come out of the outdoor unit are icing up, but so far nothing on the indoor units coil. Please, does someone have the correct pressures in PSi for both the high and low side, so that I can connect the guages up and check. I don't know if it is over or under charged,
Currently, the climate is warm to hot, but dry - not much humidity for anything to freeze up.
Any help is much appreciated.

Your guages should have temperature scales for various refrigerants. Add about 30° to the outside ambient temperature for the high side pressure due to compressor heat. The low side will be about 1/4 of that amount. Other factors come into play but that should get you close.
