Which way does STILL water flow down the plug hole?

I realise that you can influence the direction water swirls down a plug hole if the water is moving before the plug is pulled, but, if the water is perfectly still, does it flow one way in the northern hem-sphere, and the opposite way in the southern hemisphere?
According to this web site it can spin either way, apparently Coriollis forces are too weak to affect it.

The Coriolis effect is indeed far, far too small to affect it. Those who think otherwise clearly have so little brain they cannot do the sums to realise that the hiccup of a man on a passing bike would have more effect.

The direction is largely determined by the shape of the plumbing. And water is rarely still - in lab experiments to show the Coriolis force has no effect the water has to be left for hours or even days to settle.
