Radio Installation
I am having trouble with my 2003 Ford Expedition Radio installation?
After installing the new radio all I am getting power to is the cd player portion in which it ejects or loads a cd but does not play it. I then went to install the factory cd player and I am getting the same result. I am at my wits end and for the life of me can't figure out whats wrong. I have checked the fuses that the manual say are involved with the radio and have found them to be functional. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
If you are using a ford radio it is probably needing a security code that you must enter in on the preset button panel to disarm the anti theft system built in to the radio. Contact your ford service department and give them the serial # of the radio to get the access code

Approx, how much is a radio installation?
im just looking for a cheap radio approx, $50. the other 1 dosen't work anymore. it's a 1992 gmc sierra truck. so as you know ill also need the pocket to replace the other old 1.
It really depends on the radio, the car, and what ancillary equipment you are installing at the same time (ie Amplifier and subwoofers). If it is just the head unit (the deck or stereo) then it should be under $100. It really depends on the car though because the amount of work changes from car to car. Your best bet, if you are worried about price, is to find someone that knows how to do it to hook you up and do it for you. It is really very easy. There are just 3 wires for power (+12vdc, ignition, and ground) and 2 wires per speaker. I hope this helps. It is hard to give you much more information without knowing what type of car, stereo, ect.
