can a 600 rotax clutch fit a 640 rotax clutch?

currently got a 600 rotax engine but just bought a 640 rotax engine with no clutch and hoping mine will fit it anybody know if it can please thanks guys

Many factores need to be considered, for a clutch transfer. Some of the things, to check, are the spline, on the clutch , and, the spline, on the engine, where the clutch will mount. Sometimes, the splines are different, from one engine size, to another. I have had this happen, many times, myself. The splines, look the same, but, when, you try to slide the clutch on, it is a no fit situation. Then, you usually end up, getting a clutch, from the same size engine, that you need it for. If you are lucky enough, to have yours fit, from your old engine, then, you need to inspect, and, compare the clutch springs, and, the weights, inside of the clutch, itself. The 600 Rotax, normally had lighter springs, and, weights, then the 640 Rotax. Normally, as the engine size increases, the springs, and, weights increase, as well. The best thing to do, is to first get a clutch, from a 640 Rotax, and, then take your clutch, from the 600 Rotax, and compare them, inside, and, out. Check weights, and, springs, and, also compare the splines, as well. If everything looks nearly the same, then, you can see, if your 600 Rotax clutch, will fit the 640 Rotax engine. That is where you may run into a problem. On the splines, themselves. Like I said, it may not fit, or it may... You will see that, when you try it, on the engine. If it does fit, good deal. But, the 640 Rotax clutch, may be made stronger, so don't get rid of it. You may end up replacing the 600 Rotax clutch, for, the 640 Rotax, somewhere down the line. Better off, to have it onhand, in case the 600 Rotax would become faulty. If you don't use it, you don't. But, this way, you know, you have it, just in case, you do need it. And, besides, about the time you get rid of the 640 Rotax clutch, then, that is when something will happen to the 600 Rotax clutch. That is the way, it always works.

Buy a Suzuki V-Strom 650 instead. Every bit as good as the mini-Beemer, and quite a bit less money.
