Where is the governor and how do I remove it from a small engine?

I have an MTD 14.5hp 42" shift-on-the-go lawn mower. I'm making a racing lawn mower and I need to remove the governor. Its a 14.5hp 28ci ohv Briggs and Stratton Industrial/Commercial vertical shaft engine. Dont worry about the flywheel, piston, rod, and crankshaft because Im putting billet aluminum and titanium racing parts in it. Im completely rebuilding the engine with racing parts. Can someone please tell me how to take out the governor. Thanks.

how difficult is it to change a drive shaft?

how difficult is it to change a drive shaft/cv joint on the drivers side
on a puegeot 106 1.1 indepence, 51 plate
on a scale of 1 - 10, 1 being a oil change and 10 being a full rebuild?

Without the proper tools and if you've never seen it done before it'll be a head ache. I would suggest forgetting the replacement of one outer CV joint only! You can buy what is called a half shaft which includes an axle with two re-manufactured CV-Joints all assembled for $60. - $75.00.

You will spend less time replacing the entire half-shaft than monkeying around with still more tools to install one CV-Joint on your old axle.

Buy a Haynes or Chilton's repair manual for your specific car to follow the directions as to how to proceed. Possibly a local

I should warn you that you'll need a floor jack, jack-stands a large metric deep-well socket to remove the outer center locking nut, a complete set of 1/2 inch shallow well metric sockets, pitman arm puller, three finger 5 ton gear puller, 16" long 1/2 drive breaker bar, 16" long 1/2 ratchet and a four foot length of black iron pipe to slide over the handle of the breaker bar to loosen the center nut outside the wheel bearing.
