Turn Fixture

Help! Ok so i have taken down my rose fixture to replace it with an ikea 3 light barnow it wont turn off?

I can't figure out how to wire it. There are 3 Red Wires 3 Black wires and 3 green/ yellow wires. Theres three connections in the light for live, earth and neutral. How do i wire it because i put them all in there seperate ones and it wouldnt turn off.

hat's the problem when you just pull out the wires.. without a voltage tester to find the switched lines and the loop i cant help you
You can be sure all the green and yellow go together
their will be one black that is live, it should have a brown indicator to show its a live, this is from the switch( you will need a voltage tester or voltage indicator to find it.. it will be the one that turns on and off with the switch) and should go and is the only live that is actually connected to the live+ inside your lamp the other 2 negative - will be connected to the - inside the lamp. 3 of the brown should be connected together separately with a block connector and preferably dbl insulated with electricians tape.. this is the live loop and live feed sent to the switch( it comes back from the switch black but is live!)

Electricians: Why would a recessed can light fixture turn off and back on periodically?

The light fixture is in the shower, but lets presume that the problem is not related to water or moisture.

No, all recessed cans should have a thermo sensor that will detect over heating. You probably have a bulb with too much wattage for it's type relative to the trim being used. Most cans will have a list of trim types that can be used in it, and the type of bulb that should be used with max watts varying for each. This will be on a label inside the can where the bulb goes. Most shower trims are closed with glass, and are limited to a 40 watt A19.
If you put a flood type bulb, especially of a higher wattage than recommended, it will overhead the can and trip the sensor. It comes back on because it cools down.
