Vietnam Boeing

How come we have money for Iraq and Afghanistan but not for healthcare?
I mean what good have these wars done for us? Vietnam? Laos? Cuba? Iraq 1 and 2, etc?? We just keep spending money to the benefit of McDonnel Douglas, KBR and Boeing and our roads are all crumbling.
What? Spend money on GOOD stuff? You crazy? Why, them poor people having health care and education and all is wasted on them. They're poor! At least with the war the munitions companies and Haliburton -- American hero companies -- can get a lot of money. Plus more poor people die. If you can't earn quarter of a million a year, you're just not trying hard enough to be a patriotic American. Shoot. The next thing I suppose you want is diplomacy. Nothing get blowed up with diplomacy!

What is going obn in Long Cheng, Laos?
What the hell is going on in Long Cheng, Laos? The city has been closed off the outside world since the middle of the Vietnam war! Why is it closed off? The CIA used to or still could have HQ there. The U.S. Goverment had a runway long enough to land a Boeing 707.
Long Cheng is now an army base used by the Laotian Army.
CIA's operatives and Thai co-horts left in May 1975. By that time almost 50,000 Hmong fighters and refugees were living in the valley, making it the second-biggest city in Laos. Thousands were airlifted out but many more were left behind.
Some of these Hmong chose to continue fighting up through the 1990s. The Lao communist government's army used Long Cheng as a base in the fight and they finally managed to contain the Hmong insurgency.
While the fight was going on, the area was called the Saisombun Special Zone and it was closed to access from the outside. However, the Saisombun Special Zone was opened in 2006 although no official announcement was made.
If you want, you can gain access to the Saisombun Special Zone, but not to Long Cheng as this is military area.
