Roald Dahl's WW2 memoir: Are any of his British RAF company men still alive today?

I've read "Going Solo" several times, which is an account of Roald Dahl as a young man working in the Shell oil company in Africa, and which details his experience as a British RAF pilot in Africa during WW2. Does anyone know whether or not any of his company men are still alive to this day? Thanks in advance.

I've never read (nor heard of) this book, so it is a little difficult to help. But, if it mentions his squadron number, which I'm sure it is bound to do, go to this site http://www.answers.com/topic/list-of-royal-air-force-aircraft-squadrons

and click on the number. That will start you off and may provide a list of names. Then you might need to contact the RAF to see which, if any, are still living

You could also try contacting the Royal British Legion, the society which looks after ex-servicemen in the UK

What do the RAF call British Army personnel?

Hi I am going through selection and am already getting called 'Crab' by Army mates- what do I bite back with? Thanks
Wade, it's all banter- nobody takes offence.

I imagine the Royal Air Force is above using vulgar names to describe British Soldiers.

The Royal Navy on the other hand have no such qualms. Their word for a British Soldier = PONGO - a small brown furry animal.
