Does anyone know anything about toddler growth charts?

My daughter had her 2 year check up today. She weighed 30 lbs, which put her in the 75th percentile. She was 37 inches long whcih put her above the 97th percentile. My question is since she's in the 75th for weight, is she considered overweight? Her doctor didn't say anything about it. A friend said that since she measures big for lenght and head circumfrance (she's off the charts on that one too) that the fact that she's in the 75th percentile for weight isn't really a big deal. I'm just wondering if I should be concerned. My daughter doesn't look overweight. You can actually see her ribs when she's undressed. She doesn't have a big belly. She's very active and muscular. Someone give me some advice please.

No no no, that in NO way indicates she is overweight because she's in the 75th percentile. Theoretically one could imagine because she is in the 97th percentile for height that would mean she could be 97th percentile for weight too, as there should be a correlation between weight and height! I just went to the Dr with my 21mth old daughter yesterday, and asked about the growth curve as well. I've been tracking her since she was born, just to see where she's at. She was born off the charts completely (huge baby) but now has settled into a 95%+ height and a bit more for weight. She's been going through a eating frenzy lately, so surely a growth spurt is coming! I asked the Dr if there was something amiss with her weight being slightly more than her height %, and she assured me that no, everything was just fine in that regard. Hee hee, I can't see my daughter's ribs at all and she has a very big tummy indeed after she eats!

They ordered the wrong size!!!!!!?

I have been having major problems with the bridal boutique I used. First, it took 8 months for my dress to come in and now that its in I put it on and it wont zip. They took my measurements and prdered the size 10. When I looked at the size chart on the manufacturer's website, I saw that the boutique should have ordered me a size 12! There is not enough time to reorder the dress before the wedding. The zipper on the dress is about 2 inches apart (cant zip it) Do you think a talented seamstress would be able to help me? What are some options I might have? I can lose some weight but unless I remove a rib or two the dress isnt going to zip.

This is clearly the bridal boutique's fault and they should be finding you a remedy to the problem. Most bridal dresses are made to be let out four inches, that's pretty standard, so I'm sure that they can let the dress out that much and it wouldn't even be noticeable. I however would talk to the boutique and see what thier suggestions are on fixing this problem, they should have seamstresses there that could fix it for you. If they don't though, I would find a seamstress that specifically works with wedding dresses and take it there. I'm sure they'll be able to come up with a solution that will make you happy. My girlfriend got her dress and it was 6 inches to small, they added panels on the sides and no one could tell that it was supposed to be any different! Good Luck!
