Head Screws
Why are flat head screws even made?
They just seem so pointless and annoying
.
I think they're made only to keep the sales of flat head screwdrivers going.
Slotted screws (not flat head, flat head is a description of the SHAPE of the screw) have been around for a long time. I agree with you that they are terrible, especially when screwing into wood. They are OK when using a nut and washer, such as on a machine screw. But for drilling into wood, etc, I use Phillips, Robertson (square drive), or Torx. They work much better. Hope this helps.

Size difference in #8 and #10 Philips pan head screws?
I'm looking for:
1) Difference in Head Height.
2) Difference Head Length/Width.
Inches preferred, but if the default measurements are in mm or whatever, I'd be happy enough to do the conversions myself.
Everything you need is the page link below. Phillips and straight slot are the same size for pan head.
