Loc Converter
Which LOC (Line Output Converter) is best for my set-up?
O.K. This is what I'm working with. I've got a 2001 Honda Accord EX that I'm switching up the front door speakers to with a pair of Infinity Kappa 6020cs's and then adding a 15" Alpine Type-R subwoofer all of which is being run through the OEM head unit, hence the need for the LOC. Now I've already dabbled with a cleansweep so please no one suggest that, I only need to know what is the best LOC that I can buy that will still leave me with awesome sound?
Sorry probably should've mentioned that the woofer is being run off of it's own Alpine M850 mono-block amp.
The Alpine m850 has speaker level inputs. In other words, it has it's own LOC. No need to go buy one specifically.

Line out converter question?
Can you weigh in on whether having a LOC changes sound quality? I am wanting to surprise a friend but I don't want it to sound bad. It is a nice Kenwood amp and a strong Audiopipe sub. The system can dole out 900 rms but it won't run too loud all the time. I want to know if the LOC makes music sound distorted or if you observe no difference from RCAs going into an after market radio than RCAs in a LOC. Thanks
Anytime you introduce another piece of equipment into the mix there is a potential for degrading the sound. Every device is going to have a measurable amount of distortion, weather audible or not. Add to this the added potential for induced noise to find itself into your system, and threat becomes a real issue. Not to mention the added complexity of now having to adjust another set of gains. If the Kenwood you have now has high pass inputs; I'd suggest using them first. If you must buy a LOC, buy a good quality one; such as the Navone NE-7V ( http://www.davidnavone.com/cart.asp?24&cat=7 almost halfway down the page).
