Manual Repair Where can I get a free repair manual for the brakes on a 2001 mitsubishi, or the use of one online?
I need to fix the brakes on a 2001 Mitsubishi . I can probably do the work myself if i could look at a repair manual to see what the job entails.
Ah, the great "Chilton v. Haynes" debate. If you're just changing brake pads, the instructions for most models are pretty much the same. Anything more complicated and $20 for the book is a pretty good investment.
One thing about getting it from the library. Make copies and use those. You will get dirty and then your book will get dirty, so if you're borrowing, use copies.
If you do buy one, as a bonus the grease stains act as great bookmarks for the next time you need to work on your brakes.
The next big question you should ask is "Should you have your rotors machined or not". Take off a tire and take a look and feel at the rotor (unless you listen to the "always machine your rotors!" crowd), if you need to have it machined you'll have to plan ahead for that (unless you're within walking distance of a machine shop or have alternate transportation).
(The rotors are what the pads squeeze to stop the car. "Haze" can be removed in home, however any grooves or "unsmoothness" will need to be machined out. If you grooves are bad enough and machining would make the rotors too thin(see book for tolerances), you'll need to replace the rotors.)
BTW this advise is for disc brakes. I've never had to deal with drum brakes (knock on wood).

Repair manual for a Takara Belmont electric hydraulic chair base?
I need a repair manual and/or parts diagram for a Takara Belmont electric hydraulic chair base model 180. The chair I have is 15-20 years old, but it is still manufactured. I haven't been able to get one from the manufacturer.
I know this question doesn't fit in the 'cars and transportation' category, but this is the best one 'hydraulics' fit.
on e bay a man sells manuals in wisconson.. what is wrong with the chair. i could tell you how to repair it.. well i will take a stab in the dark.. all hydrallic work with a o ring and a support that holds the o ring in place... if its leaking or wont hold up its the o ring.. go to a fork lift dealer or shop take the chair with you.. and they will match up the ring .. a hydrallic repair man has a box with about 50 sizes of o rings. ok.
