Question about home owners of a lease agreement?

My friend and I will be moving together end of June. We are renting from the home owner.

When we went to sign paperwork, his girlfriend was there too. Both he and she signed the lease agreement and other paperwork. When I look up the property address and I also asked him, he alone is the property owner.

Why was it necessary for her name to be on the lease? I'm thinking, in the future, when (it seems inevitable) they break up and she's feeling vindictive, can she somehow mess up our lease or get us evicted because her name is on the lease even though she is not part owner?

Only reasons I can come up with is they are engaged and he is going to put her name on the deed after they marry or he is selling it to her and they want to avoid redoing paperwork.

Might help others (who know more about property and rental law than I) if you say which state the rental is in. Property laws and marriage laws vary state to state.

Bad news harley owners. Harley isn't all american now. parts are made in overseas and ship to the states.?

i have a rice burner. cost less, less maintenance, more power, customizable, etc. you can do most anything with them rice burners.

Als is right on the money. In fact, since those are the same manufacturers that supply components to most of the Jap makes as well as Ducati (see who makes their forks , instruments), Triumph (their electrics), etc, I guess that either makes makes Harleys good bikes or all the other brands crappy bikes. And Harleys have Jahns (German made) pistons and a Porsche designed V-Rod motor, so that puts them in bed with the Germans also.

It's a world market out there john h. Manufacturers are going to search for the best quality, least expensive component they can find regardless of what country they're in. Harley would be stupid to buy some crappy, undependable electrics. Why do you think Triumph uses Japanese electrics instead of their lousy home built Lucas??? Why also do you think China buys boat load after boatload of Caterpillar industrial equipment? It's the best there is, plain and simple and they're too smart to buy undependable junk.
