Pilot Computer Testing
Pilot Computer Testing
name of this 80's movie?

so ive been trying to think of the name of this 80's movie but for the love of everything i cant remember. anyway it starts off with this computer programmer named david who built this defense computer program, anyway its in the testing stages when an american fighter plane flies into its radar, and the computer misinterprets the pilot's sarcastic language with words such as "bomb" and "terrorist" and accidentally shoots it down. anyway the program is scrapped but the programmer takes the program and hooks it into his house, which seems to provide him company by talking to him. The computer programmer gets back together with his ex-wife and at the end tries to kill her. anyway that is a brief overview of what i can remember of the movie (i might be a little bit wrong). does anyone know what movie im talking about?
no it was a movie, it was like 2 hours long!

I think thats an episode for the newer Outer Limits series.

Dry Run (Testing)

Dry Run (Testing)

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. A dry run is a testing process where the effects of a possible failure are intentionally mitigated. For example, an aerospace company may conduct a dry run test of a jets new pilot ejection seat while the jet is parked on the ground, rather then while it is in flight. In computer programming, a dry run is a mental run of a computer program, where the computer programmer examines the source code one step at a time and determines what it will do when run. In theoretical computer science, a dry run is a mental run of an algorithm, sometimes expressed in pseudocode, where the computer scientist examines the algorithms procedures one step at a time. In both uses, the dry run is frequently assisted by a table (on a computer screen or on paper) with the program or algorithms variables on the top. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Portability testing refers to the process of testing the ease with which a computer software component can be moved from one environment to another, e.g. moving from Windows 2000 to Windows XP. This is typically measured in terms of the maximum amount of effort permitted. Result are expressed in terms of the time required to move the software and complete data conversion and documentation updates. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. US Air Force pilot training?

I will be receiving a degree in computer engineering in the near future and hope to attend USAF OTS. 1) Is it possible to take the AFOQT without making any long term commitments? 2) If my test scores + GPA + previous flying hours prove to be sufficient, will the Air Force guarantee me a slot in UPT before I sign any long term contract?
My main concern is being stuck in the service for many years doing something I don't want to do. Also if anyone knows, what percentage of UPT graduates are assigned to fighters or bombers?
Thanks for the help.

There are no guarantees.

Yes you can take the AFOQT and AFAST before any commitment

AFAST - alternate flight aptitude test

But you can find out if you are accepted into flight school, before signing the OTS commitments.

Aircraft assignments are based on the needs of the Air Force at the time you graduate flight school.

It changes for every class.

But aorcraft assignments, are chosen by the flight school students based on class rank.

IE: The air force sends a list of aircraft they need pilots for,

Then the highest rated student in the class, gets first choice, on down the line, the lower rated students get whatever is left.
