How long will re-doing a room take (read description)?
About how long do you think ripping up carpets, putting down hardwood floors, painting a room, and getting furniture in will take? We are re-modeling three bredrooms in our home over the summer, and we have a very tight schedule.
p.s. we are hiring people to do this...
More info.. You have a place to put the furniture? If you do and all rooms are empty its easier and faster for all.. Rip out the carpet yourselves so installers/ store can pre look at it to find any poss repairs to be done ahead of time ( a job slow down let me tell you if installers arrive and find hidden repairs ) Paint yourselves if poss a big $$ saver but if you don t have them do it after,, Pre finished ? of finished on site? May make a weeks differance in time..S/F ?? Depending on the layout and if rooms are connected and also how many men make up a crew to install...A crew of 2 can do anywhere from 200 to 600 s/f a day depending on lay out etc So GL in your project PS If it is pre finished and it s ready set go on all your trades , I d allow 1 1/2 weeks minimum and 2 weeks to be safe Planning ahead and your prep work helps trades move along better ( Coffee in the am helps you make friends and get along w/ the guys lol)GL again

(read description)How does a company control who has access to the internet?
To connect to the internet(in the USA at least) you have to buy service from an internet access company like AT&T, AOL, etc. How do they gain the power to control who has access to the internet???
Scenario: Near the 'core' of the internet exist Tier 1 ISP's. They have gigantic amounts of bandwidth to each other, but are typically in centralized locations (big cities).
An ISP orders service from a Tier 1 ISP, and lays down cable so they have a gateway to the internet. The ISP then sells slots of this pipe to general consumers wishing to access the internet.
You could skip the ISP and get a huge fiber line to your house, but I'm pretty sure you don't have millions of dollars to spend on this kind of implementation.
