AVionics Headsets
With aviation headsets...?
Are all the jacks on aviation headsets the same size and universal so that they fit any any aircrafts avionics system with the two jack plugs?
I recently bought the KT1000 for use in a c172 in my training and have just wondered whether the jack plugs are the same size on any headset???

The answer is "yes" and "no". As the answerer above noted, the jacks used in fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters are different, and between military and civil aircraft are different, however all small fixed-wing civil aircraft will have the same two jacks, one for the mic and one for the phones.

Headset part?
Hey, I just put my headset on today, and the the thing broke. Anyway I need to know the top part, metal band that goes on the headpad. Does anyone know what this is called? Does anyone know if this is replaceable?

See where the head pad is, and the metal where its slotted to adjust.
your best bet is to contact david Clark directly. Their customer service is excellent. You can pay a very small fee and esentially get a new headset from them .
