Presure Gauge
1994 Lincoln town car A/C problem?
hello my 1994 Lincoln town cars a/c blows warm air and when i went to add a can of recharge the presure gauge says that im in the danger zone with pressure so i am wondering if anyone had any thoughts?? can i let out some pressure ?? i dont want to blow off my hand befor i find out im doing something wrong either so im holding of on add ing the recharge.

My first suggestion is take it to a professional to be diagnosed. Chances are you overcharged the system. From the information you have given my first inclination is that it is either your compressor or that your blend doors are not working properly. Generally, the diagnostic charge does not cost much and most shops refund the charge if you have the work done there. If it is your blend doors it could be as simple as it having lost it vacuum or it could be your control unit. If it is your compressor, then the system will have to be evacuated (which they will have to do because you overcharged the system), Flush the system, change the accumulator/drier, change the orifice tube, compressor, add oil etc. Another suggestion is go with a rebuilt compressor they cost less and are quite reliable. good luck
