5 or 10w-30? or really that much difference?

bought a new 08 Nissan Frontier. 4 litre V8. live in South Georgia. Coldest it ever gets is maybe 15 degrees on and off for a couple of weeks in february. But Hot it does get...routinely 100 + through July and August. Owners Manual recommends 5w- 30, though I have always used 10w full synthetic and thought my engines have had longevity and retained a large percentage of power. does that extra "5" weight of viscosity help a little? does it really matter?

You will get a tad bit better gas mileage with the 5w-30 but if you want to use the 10w full synthetic it will be probably better than the 5w-30 regular oil.

93025 Rule In the CCI Manual Gets an Update In 16.3

Conflicting guidelines are at the top of the frustrating realities of the coding list.

Here's a case in point: The CCI version for physicians that was released on July 1, this year provided information on coding MTWA and stress tests that conflicted with the CCI manual in effect that time. However, don't worry as the latest CCI edits 16.3 provides updated instructions that go hand in hand with the edits.

Update your CCI manual's chapter 11

The CCI edits effective July 1 deleted the edits that prevented reporting cardiovascular stress test codes 93015-93017 with MTWA code 93025.

The old version of the manual in effect at that time, however stated you could not report 93015- 93017 on the same date as 93025. The old wordings read, "If a physician carries out an MTWA with submaximal stress test followed by a traditional stress test on the same date of service, CMS payment policy allows separate payment of MTWA (93025) and the interpretation and report for the traditional stress test (93018). The practice expense component of the traditional stress test is not payable separately and a physician should not report CPT codes 93015-93017 on the same DOS as 93025."

The present manual's CCI updates reflect the CCI edit deletion that allows you to report both an MTWA with submaximal stress test and a traditional stress test, acknowledging that the tests are different. The present wording says, "Microvolt T-wave alternans (MTWA) (93025) testing needs a submaximal stress test that differs from the traditional exercises stress test (93015-93018) which makes use of a standard protocol. You shouldn't report separately for the submaximal stress test integral to MTWA testing. If a physician carries out an MTWA with submaximal stress test followed by a period of rest and then a traditional stress test on the same DOS, both the MTWA and traditional stress test may be reported separately (chapter 11, section I.9).

How can an aircraft detect windshear and microbursts ?

Iv always wondered how can an aircraft do that , and input the signal to the EGPWS to get it to alert for windshear , i checked my school notes but nothing is mentioned about it in my notes alas .
Im an aircrafts maintanance engineering apprentice ( avionics ) by the way so i'd like to get a fully explained technical answer to satisify my question .

Essentially, there are two ways to detect windshear/microbursts using on-board systems.

PREDICTIVE: This is a part of the weather radar system that uses doppler to detect disturbed air. It is operational, even with the radar selected off, whenever the airplane is in the air below 2350 feet, when the radar is selected on, or on the ground with the power set to TO.

REACTIVE: This is part of the EGPWS which uses inputs from the Angle of Attack system, the ADIRUs, and the and Air Data Modules to detect uncommanded acceleration, and report windshear. This system uses different thresholds depending on the radio altitude, flap position, and phase of flight (approach or landing).

These are for the B756 and are similar, as I recall, for the B737, but may differ for other manufacturers and models. My airline installs both, but I have been led to believe that some airlines opt for one or the other.

Reading NAVigation Manual

Car navigation system-what is this icon?

We have a lexus is 250 and it has built in nav system. When we are in a larger city we see this icon all ove the place -tons of them. But don't know what it is! I've read the whole manual and don't see this icon explained.

It is a white circle w a red dot in the middle.

Its only in a large city where we live. On roads and the middle of the highway and where land/buildings are.

What is it?

We see them in bellevue wa while in that city but no other cities where we live. The car isn't even from here so I'm sure its nothing the previous owner set up. ???
