Aircraft engines are regarded as the most valuable component part of the aircraft, whereby they can be easily detached from the aircraft and be affixed to another aircraft in a very limited period of time. As a result of aviation practice, engines may be also financed separately than the aircraft. However, considering the extremely movable character of engines, security rights created on engines have been subject to a strong legal debate over the last few years. More specifically the primary issue is how it will be legally possible to protect the title holder of the engine or the creditors rights towards third parties. This book analyses the legal difficulties in creating security rights on engines with great focus on the application of the accession rule to engines, whereby the title to the aircraft might be extended to the engine as soon as it will be attached to the aircraft. It should be noted that in this book, the legal status of aircraft engines have been analyzed in the light of three jurisdictions; namely German, Dutch and Turkish as well as in regard to international conventions regarding security rights in aircraft. Ultralight Aircraft Engines what are some cost effective ultralight aircraft engines?
I am looking for something in the 20-25 horsepower range that, complete with carb, redrive [if applicable], and exhaust will weight less than 60 lbs. They can be 2 or 4 stroke but must use standard gasoline [the stuff you fill your car up with, not avgas] I know this is a tall order but you all have given me great answers so far and I know you wont let me down.
The aircraft in question has a gross weight of 450lbs [including engine, pilot, fuel, and the aircraft itself]
Your specs are a tall order.... Revolution Rotary Engines might be able to accommodate you.

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The maximal total range is the distance an aircraft can fly between takeoff and landing, as limited by fuel capacity in powered aircraft, or crosscountry speed and environmental conditions in unpowered aircraft. Ferry range means the maximum range the aircraft can fly. This usually means maximum fuel load, optionally with extra fuel tanks and minimum equipment. It refers to transport of aircraft for use on remote location. Combat range is the maximum range the aircraft can fly when carrying ordnance. Combat radius is a related measure based on the maximum distance a warplane can travel from its base of operations, accomplish some objective, and return to its original airfield with minimal reserves. The fuel time limit for powered aircraft is fixed by the fuel load and rate of consumption. When all fuel is consumed, the engines stop and the aircraft will lose its propulsion. For unpowered aircraft, the maximum flight time is variable, limited by available daylight hours, weather conditions, and pilot endurance. The Rotax 447 is a 41.6 hp (31 kW), in line 2 cylinder, twostroke aircraft engine, built by BRPRotax GmbH Co. KG of Austria for use in ultralight aircraft. The Rotax 447 is a development of the Rotax 377, increasing the power output from 26 kW (35 hp) to 29.5 kW (40 hp) by increasing the cylinder bore from 62 mm to 67.5 mm and the maximum rpm from 6500 to 6800. The modern 447 has a single breakerless, magneto capacitordischarge ignition (CDI) system. Early (ca. 1988) models use a breaker point ignition system. The Rotax 912 is a normallyaspirated, air and watercooled, horizontallyopposed, fourcylinder, fourstroke, gear reductiondrive engine commonly used on certified aircraft, light sport aircraft, ultralight aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles. The initial versions were 80 hp (60 kW) with 100 hp (75 kW) variants added later, using higher compression ratios and different parts to achieve the increase in power. The 912 A is used in certified aircraft, such as the Diamond DA20, which is quite popular in Europe. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F.
