Civil Engineering role in the UAE - What to wear.?
Well have a job offer that i've accepted. Just waiting for my visa. I need to get my wardrobe in order for the UAE, and i know that Abu Dhabi is more conservative than Dubai, but what would be deemed acceptable on site?
I am considering combat style cotton trousers, single colour, no camouflage patterns.
Would t-shirts be acceptable, or should i get short sleeve button up shirts?
Are there any specific colours, patterns or even brands (israeli, possibly Caterpillar?) that i should avoid.
I have already been offered the job. I was interviewed by an english company, and was more concerned about what could be worn on a building site when working in an engineering role.
What ever u feel comfortable in. Im a civil engineer my self based on site and i just wear Cat boots, pair of jeans or combat, (wish i could wear shorts some days), and t-shirts.
First day their i'd advise maybe to wear a short sleeve shirt just to see what everyone else is wearing or what exactly ur role is.

Are there any other camouflage uniforms authorized for wear during off duty hours?
I'm active duty air force currently at lackland afb. obviously..we wear our abu's during the day. i just wanted to know if anybody knew if we could wear another pattern off duty? maybe like dcu's or multicam, urban. things of that nature. thanks in advance.
so i couldnt wear both the coat and trousers? im already tired of wearing it after 12 hour days. but i just wanted to know the regs.
The uniform's the uniform bro. You could wear parts of other uniforms off-duty like DCU pants etc, though believe me after wearing the uniform ALL DAY the last thing you'll want to do is put on another one when you get home.
EDIT: You can't wear the blouse because it's got your name and the USAF tags on it. You could wear the pants separately-unless the reg just changed. HOWEVER if you wear the T-shirt and pants together-that's a "uniform" and would not be a good thing to do.
