Embry Riddle Arizona campus vs Daytona Beach campus? UND, Purdue?

I want to study Aeronautical Science and become a professional airline pilot but I wasn't sure to which ERAU campus to attend. I don't really care about location but I want to know which one is the best in terms of equipment, aircraft, instructors, facilities, dorms, students, etc. I also looked around for other schools such as UND and Purdue but I'm not sure which one is the best between the 3. Does anyone know with how many flight hours do I graduate from these 3 schools? Also please have in mind the cost. Thanks

Place the name of each school separately into your favorite search engine and then add the phrase reviews and rankings. Compare and contrast them.

Contact the schools individually and ask them about the flight hours./

Aeronautical Chart

Aeronautical Chart

$74.88

An aeronautical chart is a map designed to assist in navigation of aircraft, much as nautical charts do for watercraft, or a roadmap for drivers. Using these charts and other tools pilots are able to determine their position, safe altitude, best route to a destination, navigation aids along the way, alternative landing areas in case of an inflight emergency, and other useful information such as radio frequencies and airspace boundaries. There are charts for all land masses on Earth, and longdistance charts for transoceanic travel. Specific charts are used for each phase of a flight and may vary from a map of a particular airport facility to an overview of the instrument routes covering an entire continent (e.g., global navigation charts), and many types in between. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Wright Aeronautical was an aircraft and aircraft engine manufacturer located in New Jersey. This American company evolved from the 19091916 Wright Company, which merged with the Glenn L. Martin Company in 1916 to form the WrightMartin Aircraft Corporation. Glenn Martin resigned from WrightMartin and reformed an independent Glenn L. Martin Company in September 1917. WrightMartin was renamed Wright Aeronautical in 1919. In May 1923, Wright Aeronautical purchased the Lawrance Aero Engine Company, as the United States Navy was concerned that Lawrance couldnt produce enough engines for its needs. Flight Test

Flight Test

$71.7

Flight test is a branch of aeronautical engineering that develops and gathers data during flight of an aircraft and then analyses the data to evaluate the flight characteristics of the aircraft and validate its design, including safety aspects. The flight test phase accomplishes two major tasks:finding and fixing any aircraft design problems and then verifying and documenting the aircraft capabilities for government certification or customer acceptance. The flight test phase can range from the test of a single new system for an existing aircraft to the complete development and certification of a new aircraft. Therefore the duration of a flight test program can vary from a few weeks to several years. Aircraft Performance by Sadraey, Mohammad [Paperback]

Aircraft Performance by Sadraey, Mohammad [Paperback]

$181.62

The objective of this book is to introduce flight performance analysis of air vehicles, particularly heavierthanair craft. It includes subjects such as maximum speed, absolute ceiling, rate of climb, maximum range, maximum endurance, and take off run. Both jet aircraft and propdriven aircraft are covered. This subject is interesting for all people who are dealing with aircraft such as aircraft designers, practicing engineers, pilots, and aircraft manufacturing companies, airlines, air forces and primarily students of the field of aeronautical engineering. Steady Aircraft Flight and Performance

Steady Aircraft Flight and Performance

$32

This undergraduate textbook offers a unique introduction to steady flight and performance for fixed-wing aircraft from a twenty-first-century flight systems perspective. Emphasizing the interplay between mathematics and engineering, it fully explains the fundamentals of aircraft flight and develops the basic algebraic equations needed to obtain the conditions for gliding flight, level flight, climbing and descending flight, and turning flight. It covers every aspect of flight performance, including maximum and minimum air speed, maximum climb rate, minimum turn radius, flight ceiling, maximum range, and maximum endurance.Steady Aircraft Flight and Performance features in-depth case studies of an executive jet and a general aviation propeller-driven aircraft, and uses MATLAB to compute and illustrate numerous flight performance measures and flight envelopes for each. Requiring only sophomore-level calculus and physics, it also includes a section on translational flight dynamics that makes a clear connection between steady flight and flight dynamics, thereby providing a bridge to further study.Offers the best introduction to steady aircraft flight and performanceProvides a comprehensive treatment of the full range of steady flight conditionsCovers steady flight performance and flight envelopes, including maximum and minimum air speed, maximum climb rate, minimum turn radius, and flight ceilingUses mathematics and engineering to explain aircraft flightFeatures case studies of actual aircraft, illustrated using MATLABSeamlessly bridges steady flight and translational flight dynamicsN. Harris McClamroch is professor of aerospace engineering at the University of Michigan. He has been an educator and researcher in flight dynamics and control for more than forty years.

Aircraft Flight Control System

Aircraft Flight Control System

$63.73

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles A conventional fixedwing aircraft flight control system consists of flight control surfaces, the respective cockpit controls, connecting linkages, and the necessary operating mechanisms to control an aircrafts direction in flight. Aircraft engine controls are also considered as flight controls as they change speed. The fundamentals of aircraft controls are explained in flight dynamics. This article centers on the operating mechanisms of the flight controls. How important is ROTC in becoming a military fixed wing pilot?

I'm currently a junior at Embry Riddle Aeronautical Univ. with a commercial multi endorsement. I was planning on flight instructing until I could pick up a regional gig but I was also considering the possibility of flying for the military. I've never done ROTC so my question is how feasible is it for me to get a guaranteed flight spot and what should be my first steps in applying? It really does not matter to me what branch I fly for nor what type aircraft. I have heard that the Air National Guard is a good option. Any thoughts or experiences are greatly appreciated.

ROTC would probably not be an alternative for you. This is taken throughout your college years along with other courses. It is a way to become a commissioned officer but no guarantee of flight training.

Your best bet would be to contact the various military recruiters and see what your options are. Air National Guard is good but you need to check on the hours you'll fly if your intent is to build time. Air Force and Navy are good. Marines and Coast Guard are Navy trained. Look into the Army also. I believe they have fixed wing but the majority are rotary.
