What Use Is The "Brace Position" In Air Accidents ?

Who was it whom suggested that was a good position to use considering that in most air accidents, due to the speed of the aircraft Passengers can become "missiles" within the aircraft. Why not have "airbags" on the back of all the seats instead if it is considered that there is a chance of survival for example an aircraft putting down at sea.

This is a safer position as proved by the Myth Busters. The myth was that it'd be cheaper having everyone perish in an aircraft accident and pay for a wrongful death suit, than to have crippled survivors and pay a much higher price to the survivors. Again, Myth Busters did their homework and proved it is a safer position.

As a side note. Most people do survive just after an accident occurs. What kills people is fire and smoke. The accident that just recently occured in Kentucky was probably survivable for most passengers. The fire after the crash is what proved disastrous for everyone.

In FS2004, with jet aircraft, how can you climb to a high cruising altitude without losing lots of speed?

Whenever I fly a 737-700, for example, I need to get to 40,000 ft. But when I do I end up losing speed. Even with a low climb rate with the autopilot. The nose always flares in the air because the aircraft is slow. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

When you reach 40,000 ft, just use MACH . Auto pilot , you'll control the speed
EX: MACH = 280 knots , the aircraft will go exactly 279 , 280 , 281
