American Airlines down at O'hare?

Does anyone know what happened to an American Airlines plane at O'hare International Airport in Chicago last Thursday at around 2:55pm? It looked like a Boeing 767.

I was coming in from Cancun and we landed on runway 9R. On the taxiway I noticed a Boeing 767 at the end of the runway (on the taxiway) with ambulance, squad cars, and firetrucks surrounding it. All with their lights on. I also so shuttle busses speeding towards the plane and then hold back.

I do not know if this was the case but here is a rare story I found that happend thursday august 16th but news was posted the next day
CHICAGO, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- An American Airlines spokeswoman at Chicago's O'Hare Airport said there has been no sign of a cat that made a break for freedom at the terminal.

Basil, a 1-year-old tabby, went on the run July 30 as his owner, Shelly-Marie Rios, was traveling from Detroit to Austin, Texas, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Friday. Another cat, Jasper, also tried to run but was foiled by airline employees.

"As our ramp worker was literally picking up the handle of the kennel to put the cage in the belly of the aircraft, the bottom fell out," said American Airlines spokeswoman Mary Frances Fagan. "One cat went one way, the other went the other way," she said. "We were able to retrieve one of the two animals very quickly."

Fagan said the incident was a rare occurrence.

"There are a lot of nooks and crannies on the ramp level where a house cat may try to tuck himself in and stay out of the way," Fagan said to the Sun-Times. "Please understand, we have a lot of people looking for this cat. There are a lot of lovers of animals looking."

American Airlines Flight 587, an Airbus A300, crashed into the Belle Harbor neighborhood of Queens; a borough of New York City in New York, United States, shortly after takeoff from John F. Kennedy International Airport on November 12, 2001. This is the second deadliest U.S. aviation accident to date, after American Airlines Flight 191. With 260 fatalities on board and 5 on the ground, this accident has the third highest death toll of any accident involving an Airbus A300. Both Iran Air Flight 655 and China Airlines Flight 140 had higher fatalities. The accident took place two months after the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center in Manhattan. Several factors, such as the date, aircraft size, airline, and location in New York, raised concerns that the crash was caused by another terrorist attack. AlQaeda listed the attack among their successes, and a Canadian militant cooperating with authorities suggested that it had been brought down with a shoe bomb. Nonetheless, terrorism was officially ruled out as the cause by the National Transportation Safety Board, which instead attributed the disaster to the first officers overuse of rudder controls. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Mohawk Airlines was an airline that operated in the MidAtlantic region of the United States, primarily the states of New York and Pennsylvania from the mid1940s until its acquisition by Allegheny Airlines in 1972. At its height, it employed over 2,200 personnel and pioneered several technical and social aspects of regional airline operations, citation needed] including being the first airline in the United States to hire an African American flight attendant. In 1958 Mohawk moved its headquarters from Ithaca to Oneida County Airport in the Town of Whitestown, New York, near Utica. The airline began operations in 1945 as Robinson Airlines out of Ithaca Municipal Airport near Ithaca, New York, flying single engined, three passenger Fairchild F24 aircraft. As it grew in the 1950s, the Douglas Di3 became its primary aircraft; the Convair CV240, CV440s and Martin 404s were integrated into its fleet later. The airline also experimented with helicopter service between New York and Catskill Mountains resorts with limited success. American Airlines Flight 11

American Airlines Flight 11

American Airlines Flight 11 was a scheduled U.S. domestic passenger flight from Logan International Airport in Boston, Massachusetts, to Los Angeles International Airport. It was hijacked by five Islamic terrorists and deliberately crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City as part of the September 11, 2001, attacks. Fifteen minutes into the flight, the hijackers injured at least three people, forcefully breached the cockpit, and overpowered the pilot and first officer. Mohamed Atta, who was a known member of alQaeda, and trained as a pilot, took over the controls. Air traffic controllers noticed the flight was in distress when the crew stopped responding to them. They realized the flight had been hijacked when Atta mistakenly transmitted announcements for passengers to air traffic control. On board, two flight attendants contacted American Airlines, and provided information about the hijackers and injuries to passengers and crew. The aircraft crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center at 08:46 local time; the impact killed all 92 people aboard, including the hijackers. [HD] FSX American 737-800 "Lighted Guide"

Does Southwest Airlines have any kind of power outlets on their seats?

I typically fly American, and they have the car-lighter-outlets on the seats (on most planes) so I can plug my converter in and have an actual power outlet to plug my laptop into. I was wondering if Southwest has this too. I don't know what plane I will be flying on but it's a 5hr flight so I am guessing it will be a big one. Anybody fly Southwest a lot and know if this is even available on some planes?

All of Southwest's planes are Boeing 737s; however, none of them have power ports or outlets at the seats. The website below has seat maps and other information about the three different types of 737s that Southwest uses.
