Power supply tech help?

Ok so i just installed my PSU and right now everything seems to be running fine. The thing is the power supply did not match the power connectors with the disk tray and the hard drive so what i did is i got the old part from my old PSU and connected them with the 4 pin power connectors they fit so i said why not. So i turned on my PC and everything ran fine

Old Power supply I upgraded from 200w to 600w so were the mix up with the connectors having to do with the pins, are they fine?

so as i understand your hdd and cd-rom has 4 pin molex power connector. So you can cut 2 connectors from your old PSU and just solder it to your new one looking carefully for the colors. So i think they should exist any kind of adapter changing from sata power to the old 4 pin standart , but i have seen only from 4 pin to sata..
