Commercial Pilot Knowledge

I want to get into Aerospace and be a Mechanical technician. Advice?
I have heard (correct me if I'm wrong) that technicians in the industry are very sought after. I abandoned my plans to be a commercial pilot in favor of this instead (more pilots than jobs...). I will be ready to enter a university with a very good aerospace program the semester after next. Can anyone offer me good advice, ups and downs about the job, how much money I should expect to make a year, and perhaps any other occupation in the aerospace industry that may be better? I'm green to anything aerospace aside from basic knowledge about planes and how to fly them so any advice apreciated thanks!
if you want to be a mechanical person, a mechanical engineering degree might be more useful.
believe it or not, aerospace firms don't hire mostly aerospace engineers - but NASA does.

Can a commercial airliner recover from a stall?
My Dad was a pilot and told me that there are different types of stalls
An aircraft cannot recover from a stable stall?
Does this mean that the captain and copilot(s) - if they know they are in a stable stall at whatever altitude have to simply resign themselves to a crash?
Isn't there any procedure? What would you do?
Pilots and people with professional knowledge: grateful for your answers.
in general all aircraft can recover from a stall. In fact whenever an aircraft manufacturer such as Boeing and Airbus always test stall their airplanes before delivery.
