Cyl Rocker Valve

I have a1986 Toyota Tercel 4 cyl. and have messed up the valves?

My tercel has 315K and i screwed up and adjusted some of the rocker arms too much and now not starting.is there a way to readjust the rocker arms anew as I didn't mark which ones I adjusted?

You clearly shouldn't have been under the valve cover at all. There is a thing called "Valve lash" that tells you how much space there is supposed to be between the rocker arms and the valves it is measured in Thousandths of an inch with special "feeler gauges" each engine has its own specs. Get a repair manual for your car if you want to work on it don't just go "tightening things up" if you don't know what you are doing. You only adjust rocker arms when valves are in closed position, you over tightened and now valves aren't closing at all. The really stupid part about all this is you were probably attempting to "adjust away" lifter rattle, which has nothing at all to do with valves. Always read up on what you are wanting to repair before you take a wrench to your car.

broken rocker arm and push rod ?

New 383 stroker motor just put in and did the cam break in changed the oil and filter started up fine took it down the road not running it hard it ran fine for a minute then stopped at stop sign and took off easy and started missing so i changed spark plugs and started it up and it was knocking so pulled of valve cover and had broken rocker arm and push rod on cyl 7 and the other rocker was turned sideways any help would be appreciated thanks

Did you install a smaller cam to compensate for the longer crankshaft throws?
