What is the best carb setup for a very mildly built 1600cc VW in a tube frame buggy?


I have a Warrior framed two seater with a stock 1600cc DP that I run on the street and two track. The motor came with a weber progressive POS and I don't want to waste my time jetting it. (It fouls the plugs after short use) I'm looking into upgrading to a setup that will give me better performance, less hassle, and the ability to upgrade the motor in the future with out having to get new carbs. Right now I'm running a stock (as far as I know) motor with chromoly spring retainers and pushrods, high rev springs, aluminum HD rocker shafts, high oil pressure kit, and remote coolers and filter. I'm leaning towards a dual Kadron setup but I don't know why.LOL Please help me decide.

A set of dual Weber 40 IDF's should run pretty good. You might have to mess with the jetting a little bit with the stock engine but once you upgrade to a bigger engine you'll already have some decent carbs. I've got a set on my 1915 in my daily driver. They make 2 versions of them. The Chinese knock offs and the real Italian ones. Of course the Italian ones are going to be pricier but they're worth it in value. Not to say the Chinese ones won't run fine. Please tell me you threw that Weber progressive into a river or something like that. I hate those things.

Why does my Camaro have power?


Now I bought this car and I bought it knowing that it would need some work. The tranny was out of a car from the 80s and this is a 77 camaro, so that was a first thing to be replaced, as it was also slipping and clunking into gear. Also it has a 3:72 rear end. Now it still has no balls whatsoever.

It is 350 with an Edelbrock 650 Performer carb, Edelbrock high rise dual plane intake, headers, new distributer, and a cam. I have replaced the plugs and wires to Bosch platinums and MSD. Now I have no idea what the cam is, so I'm thinking it may be WAY to large? It starts and idles fine but has no power when it comes to moving. It bogs its way up and can barely keep up with traffic. It has a dummy oil light that comes on when I step on the gas, so I have no idea what the pressure is.

Also the heads look like stock and some idiot welded the spaces on. Any help is appreciated!

I suspect the camshaft is installed incorrectly so that the valve timing is off by several degrees (probably just one tooth on the timing gear.

A dummy oil light? Do you mean a oil pressure idiot light instead of an oil pressure gauge? Usually they behave just the opposite way. It may flicker at idle, but go out as engine speed (and oil pressure) increases.

I have experienced an engine bog down, but never "bogs it way up".
What are you saying? (In English, please).
