Holley Automatic Carburetor

What would be a better geared rear end for my pickup, without losing alot of pulling power?
Im looking for more speed but i don't wanna take much away from my pulling power. my pickup is a 3/4 ton Chevrolet Silverado Camper Special Edition. Its gotta 454 big block V8 with a Holley 4 barrel carburetor and an automatic transmission. And currently a 410 geared rear end.
Re gearing is not the right way to do it. Your 4.10 gears are good, your 454 makes alot of torque.
You just need to mod the engine so it has a longer power band.
Alittle larger cam should get the results you want, maybe a better intake

motorcraft carburetor?
i have a 1978 mustang II and the jets in the carb are to small. im not sure what the size is. i do know that they are orginal. but i need to get bigger jets so i can drive the car. i need to know if holley proformance main jets will fit the motorcraft i have. i dont have the money for a new carb i can barely afford to get the main jets for the one i have now. and i cant find motorcraft brand jets anywhere. if you know what size the orginal size for the 78 carbs and what size i need to get that would help me out so much. the carb is a 2BBL and its on a v6 with automatic trans. thank you in advanced
its a 2.8L v6 if that helps
i called a restoration shop and they told me that the main jets from 78 were to small for the carb. when i hit the gas it dies at take off unless i take off really slow and to me that is a road hazard. and its my only car. i need to get it fixed asap. i put a new acculator pump in as well as a new power valve. the only thing i havent done is got new jets.
Autolite and motorcraft were the same, Holley is different....
Why do you think you need bigger jets? are the plugs burning a tan color? Unless they are burning white, and melting the side electrode, the mixture should be right........or unless you have changed the cam, it should work...
Have you rebuilt the carb? If not, you should... most likely the stock jets are clogged ... clean them with spray carb and choke cleaner
take the jets to a real hardware store,( not HD) and try number drills until you find one that the blank end fits snug, use this to ream out any corruption...if you need to enlarge the jets, buy the next two larger numbers....
