Lighted Magnetic Compass

Could anyone go in the Bermuda Triangle and survive?
Well I've read recently that in The Bermuda Triangle is a very powerful magnetic field that makes all the ships/airplanes and stuff to sink. I don't know how true is that but I have also read that Christopher Columbus had passed through that triangle..and said that he saw strange lights in the sky...the compass went crazy BUT he was ok.And I'm starting to think that is because his ship was made of wood. Now if people go there with a ship made of steel or som' metallic..they sink or disappear or..whatever ..so my question is..could they go there with a wood ship..just like Columbus and see that happens? I mean..I suppose it wouldn't cause so much damage....just a simple question
I don't agree that the Bermuda triangle isn't anything special. I've been reading up on disappearances and mysteries a lot, and there are strange happenings in the triangle.
Ususally when something goes missing there, wreckage is never found. I heard about Columbus, and i'm not sure that the boat's material made a difference, because people do go in and out of that area unharmed, but there are some strange stories.
THere is this one story, that by itself isn't thought of, but with all the other weird stuff, it might be something questionable:
"A Boeing 727 once disappeared from radar screens and air traffic control feared the worst. Thankfully, the plane landed safely ten minutes later. THe crew had flown through fog, and all their watches were ten minutes slow."
There is also the story of flight 19, too, where five planes disappeared in the Bermuda triangle and where never heard of again. A couple rescue planes went into the area to find them, and one of the rescue planes never came back. It too disappeared.
