How much should this engine rebuild cost?

2000 Dodge Intrepid
2.7L V6 engine
I have the engine removed, taken all the way down, block is at machine shop, has been dipped and cleaned, freeze plugs removed, to be replaced......several rod bearings had spun bearings, needing atleast 2 new rods. Quote on the rods are $59 each x 2. I will be getting a crank kit, comes with crankshaft, main bearings, and rod bearings......That is $260.00 for the kit..........I got cost of a master kit. it is $1100.00. KInda high. May just reuse what good parts I can salvage. May reuse the 6 pistons, was gonna replace all 6, but they have no scaratch, just replace the piston rings, reuse 4 rods, will need the heads gone through, redo all the valves, all 24 of them, then will replace all gaskets, water pump, thermostat, headgaskets, front and rear engine seals, oil pan and valve cover gaskets, and what sensors? How much do you think the valve job will cost on the heads? What other things should be done to the heads?

just finished with a rebuild but prices may be different depending were your at. well sounds like you have a good start just make sure you use brass freeze plugs so they dont corrode and have the machine shop put them in for you usually free labor. and yea reuse your crank if its ok. just have it polished $45 and get the engine balanced usually about $150. And you might want to go with new pistons if your block is going to need to be bored just look and see if theres a lip on the top of the cylinder. also make sure you have your old rods and new ones get reconditioned and aligned usually only like $75 for that. and most of your parts wont be reusable so go as new as u can afford. and the valve job should be like $150 but your prlly gunna also need the head surface reground so its perfectly flat otherwise your head gasket wont seal and may leak that goes the same for the block but your machine shop will be able to tell you. on a final not also make sure you use a new cam and have machine shop install the bearings for that another $45. make sure you use good name brand bearings and rings cheap ones arent worth it in the long run. and for reusing parts get a new oil pump usually pretty cheap. and sensors the only ones you should need to replace are the one you break taking apart. should cost you about 2500 when your all done. but well worth it. and just for the person who said the 2.7 is a grenade find its week spots and fix them by using good name parts and listen to what your machineist tells you they know their stuff. good luck

buying a honda prelude?

so im on craigslist i found this add :
Its a white prelude super clean shell no dents, front body kit with 94 front projector healights and grill. The interior is super clean no tears. The engine is a b20a5 with an automatic tranny. Has Aem cam gears, Aem adjustable fuel rail, dc headers, 3in piping all the way back to a ractive muffler, has venom 400 power control module, and 9.3mm ar plug wires, and a cold air intake. The car also has a clean set of Motegi 18in wheels and all corners have adjustable coil overs on eibach springs. Car runs and drives good but can use some work. Lots of good parts for the price.

im really interested, but the guy says it needs a fuel pump and ignition switch. is that really expensive? hes asking 1200 is it worth it?

yeah there pretty expensive but what he is offering and the parts on it its worth the price. for the car
alone.
the others is just extra.

but i would say a good 600 for the prelude.

but good deal look for the but look at the brakes and belts
